S Fowler Contractors is a family-owned building and refurbishment company based in West Malling, Kent.
We excel in all types of structural work including new build work, basement, garage and loft conversions, extensions, roof repairs, kitchen and bathroom installations; as well as carpentry and joinery, plastering, painting and decorating.
All members of our team are qualified, experienced trades people, skilled in all aspects of the building industry. Our Electricians are registered NICEIC engineers, our Heating & Plumbing Engineers are Corgi Registered, and you will receive relevant certification on completion of the work. Wherever possible we use materials that have been granted a British Standard (BS) or British Board of Agreement (BBA) certificate.
We project manage our works with the customer in mind, detailing the order and timing of payments so that you can manage cash flow, and so you know precisely what’s happening when. Our aim is to bring as much clarity as possible, making us truly accountable to you, and giving you peace of mind.
In order to protect both your position and ours, our standard trading terms include a Joint Contracts Tribunal (JTC) Agreement for Minor Building Works. Among other things, the contract makes provision for five per cent retention to be held against completion of the works. Half of this is released on completion of the job, with the remaining half held for a further three months. The purpose is to ensure that any defects arising in connection with our work will be made good by the end of the three-month period.
Our work is covered by full Public and Employers’ Liability insurance, £5m and £10m respectively. Evidence of these policies will be provided at the point of issuing the contract.
